That’s golf

To be totally honest, I’m not the best golfer. But, there is something about this stupid game that gets in your blood and creates an obsession unlike no other. Personally, I feel it’s the “rush” you feel after sinking a double breaking 12 foot downhill putt that measures 12 on the stimp. If you golf, you know exactly what I’m talking about.
One of the all-time great golfers, Lee Trevino, was asked about his definition of pressure. He said, having a four-foot putt to win a $20 bet with only having $5 in your pocket…that’s pressure. I couldn’t agree more.
Golf is wonderful game. The best part, it’s all about me. When I do well, I get all the acclaim. When I play poorly, I get the ridicule. And, rightly so. Playing team golf is fun. But, individually golf is something entirely different. It’s just you against the elements…the cut of the grass. The trees. The wind. The sand. The water. The noise. There are so many varibles. And, the craziest thing: those varibles on every single shot. No two shots are the same. Ever. Even if you play the same course four times a day, every day. No two shots are identical.
That’s golf.
